Leanne Murphy is a licensed professional engineer with over 10 years of experience working with organic materials and processes. Leanne is trained in cGMP, LEAN manufacturing, as well as Six Sigma.The culmination of her experience, including careers at Piramal Healthcare and Xerox, has allowed her to be directly involved in each stage of the scale-up process as a chemical procedure is moved from the laboratory through to manufacturing. Leanne has performed process R&D involving the production and isolation of hormones, endotoxins, small organic molecules and polymers. She holds 8 patents and pending applications that disclose improved synthetic procedures for safety and cost reduction and is the author of 4 peer-reviewed journal articles. She has employed plug flow, batch and continuous reactors, as well as bioreactors for production purposes. Her experience includes procurement, qualification and troubleshooting of equipment required for downstream processes such as filtration and evaporation. She holds a M.A.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering and Nanotechnology from the University of Waterloo and degrees in both Zoology (B.Sc.) and Chemical Engineering (B.A.Sc.) from the University of Western Ontario.
